Icelandic Economic Weekly: Monday 2 March 2020

Last week's highlights

GDP increased by 4.7% in Q4 2019 and 1.9% in FY 2019. The increase is mainly due to a decrease in imports; domestic demand was mostly unchanged while exports decreased.

The CPI based on prices in February increased by 0.92% MoM, bringing the headline number to 2.4%. This was well above expectations - we had expected a 0.4% increase.

Eimskip and Landsvirkjum published FY 2019 results.

The week ahead

The CBI releases balance of payments for Q4 2019 and the net external position end of quarter today.
