Landsbankinn receives equal pay certification

Landsbankinn has received equal pay certification which confirms that its remuneration system complies with the Equal Pay Standard ÍST 85:2012. The key aim of the equal pay certification is to counteract a sex-based wage gap and boost equality of the sexes in the labour market.

Implementation of an equal pay standard at Landsbankinn in fact means that the Bank has enacted a control system which ensures that handling and decisions about wages is based on objective factors, free of gender-based discrimination.

Equal pay certification became a legal requirement in June 2017 and Landsbankinn worked to achieve certification in 2018. Final review of Landsbankinn took place in January 2019 and was carried out by BSI in Iceland, a professional certification body. The Bank has now been certified under the Standard.
