Partnership agreement between Reykjavík University’s School of Business and Landsbankinn

Landsbankinn and Reykjavík University’s School of Business have entered into a 3-year partnership agreement. The aim of the partnership is to support students working on an undergraduate degree in economics and business administration to participate in the Rotman International Trading Competition.

The competition is hosted by the Rotman School of Management in Toronto, Canada in February each year. Reykjavík University’s students will compete with students from all continents and against 50-60 teams from universities in Africa, Asia, Europe and North-America. This is a valuable opportunity for the students to build relations with their contemporaries from around the world and to learn about on-exchange trade. The competition extends over three days and special software is used to simulate the stock exchange trade environment.

Special emphasis is placed on ensuring participation by female students. The students set to compete each year will visit Landsbankinn and introduce the team to the Bank’s employees. A special preparatory course will be held in anticipation of the competition, for the first time in fall 2019.
