Landsbankinn a model of good corporate governance

Fifteen companies were recognised at the University of Iceland conference.

The Centre for Corporate Governance has renewed its recognition of Landsbankinn as a model of good corporate governance for the period 2017-2018. The Iceland Chamber of Commerce, Nasdaq OMX Iceland, the Confederation of Icelandic Employers and the Centre for Corporate Governance at the University of Iceland select the awardees.

Helga Björk Eiríksdóttir, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Landsbankinn, accepted the award for the Bank at the conference for good corporate governance, held at the University of Iceland on 10 April.

The award is based on a review of the Bank’s governance practices. The review has regard for the Guidelines on Corporate Governance published by the Iceland Chamber of Commerce, the Confederation of Icelandic Employers and Nasdaq OMX Iceland. The Centre for Corporate Governance at the University of Iceland coordinates the award process.

Landsbankinn first received the award in 2014 and has been an annual recipient since. The aim is first and foremost to encourage debate and actions that promote good corporate governance.
