The Icelandic króna appreciated in the second half of July.

The real exchange rate of the Icelandic króna was 10.6% lower in July of this year than in July 2018.

Icelandic Economic Weekly: Monday 27 April 2020

The CBI released the minutes of the MPC meeting held on 2 April 2020 as well as updated crisis scenarios from the same meeting. S&P downgraded the Icelandic banks on weaker business prospects. The CBI will begin buying Treasury bonds in the secondary market at the beginning of May. Statistics Iceland released short-term indicators for tourism. Landsvirkjun decided on dividend payments for 2019.

The CBI released the minutes of the MPC meeting held on 17 March 2020. Icelandair Group completed the sale of Icelandair Hotels. Eimskip adjusted its container sailing system. The number of overnight stays decreased by 12.7% YoY in February. The ISK depreciated by 11.9% against the euro in March. The GDM released a Quarterly Government Debt Management Prospect for Q2.
