Weekend seminar on job creation and innovation in Reykjavík
A weekend seminar on job creation and innovation will be held in Reykjavík this coming weekend, 13 to 15 January. This fall, Landsbankinn and Innovit announced their partnership on job creation and innovation weekend seminars to support domestic innovation.
A promotional meeting will be held in Reykjavík City Hall on Tuesday, 10 January, from 11:30-12:30. The meeting will set out the weekend's agenda and promote Gulleggið, Innovit's innovation competition, of which Landsbankinn has been a principal sponsor since 2008.
The key objective of the weekend seminars is to boost entrepreneurship and product development by creating a platform for innovation. A secondary goal is to strengthen innovation regionally. Weekend seminars have been held in Suðurnes and Hornafjörður with great success. A number of additional seminars have been scheduled this winter in collaboration with municipalities throughout Iceland.
Experts from Landsbankinn and Innovit, as well as numerous entrepreneurs and other specialists, will share their expertise. The weekend seminars are open to all participants; to individuals with business ideas as well as to individuals interested in participating in developing business ideas.
The best ideas in several categories will receive recognition. Participants can subsequently further develop their business ideas and seek advice from Innovit and Landsbankinn, the objective being to realise as many business ideas as possible.
